Young Black Brothers from Jackson Have Written 10 Books

Jackson, Mississippi — Two young Black brothers from Jackson are changing the world of books before many kids even reach middle school.

The brothers — ages 14 and 12 — have already written and published 10 books. They call their creative world the Boss Brothers Universe, where they write stories that teach lessons about life, money, responsibility, and imagination.

These boys use their books and animated ideas to help other kids learn important things while having fun. Their work also teaches ideas about financial literacy — how money works — in ways that children can understand.

Parents, teachers, and community leaders in Jackson say the brothers are not just great writers — they are role models for other young people who do not often see kids like them represented in books and media. Many readers have said their stories are inspiring because they show that Black children can be authors, creators, and leaders long before adulthood.

Representation matters because when children see people who look like them doing big things, they believe they can do big things too. These young authors prove that age and background should not define dreams. Their success encourages other young writers to share their own voices and stories with the world.

The brothers continue to write, publish, and create more stories — and many in their community are looking forward to seeing what they do next.
