PJs for the Culture: Mother-and-Son Duo Bring Culture Into Holiday Sleepwear

A mother-and-son team is making holiday clothes more meaningful for many families with a new Black-owned sleepwear brand called PJs for the Culture. The company is changing the way people celebrate the holidays by offering matching pajamas that reflect Black and Brown culture.

Vanessa and her son Dallas started PJs for the Culture because they felt something was missing in holiday traditions. They noticed it was hard to find festive pajamas that showed people of color in the designs. So in October 2022, they created their own line of holiday sleepwear to fill that gap.

Their pajamas include fun and joyful designs, like Black Santa and festive holiday characters, so families can see themselves in the clothes they wear for special moments. The brand also offers sleepwear for different traditions, like Kwanzaa and “Feliz Navidad” for Hispanic celebrations, making the collection welcoming for many cultures.

The pajamas are available for the whole family, from babies to adults, so everyone can match and feel proud during the holidays. People especially love the “Santa Baby” pajamas, which became one of the most popular items because of their joyful cultural design.

Vanessa and Dallas also choose to work with Black designers and photographers to support their community and highlight creativity from within. They want their brand to be more than just clothes — they want it to be a way for families to celebrate pride, joy, and culture together.

This holiday season, PJs for the Culture is reminding people that representation matters, even in small traditions like wearing holiday pajamas. Check out their holiday sleepwear at pjsfortheculture.com and find festive PJs for your entire family that truly reflect your culture.
