A major moment in food and culture is coming to Las Vegas. Award-winning chef and Top Chef star Kwame Onwuachi is opening the first Black chef–led restaurant on the iconic Las Vegas Strip.

Chef Kwame will launch “Maroon,” a Caribbean-inspired steakhouse, inside SAHARA Las Vegas. The opening marks a historic milestone, as no Black chef has ever led a restaurant on the Strip before.

Known for blending bold flavors with powerful storytelling, Chef Kwame brings his Caribbean roots, New York upbringing, and fine-dining experience into every dish. Maroon is expected to celebrate Caribbean culture through elevated steaks, rich spices, and vibrant flavors, offering guests something truly new and meaningful in Las Vegas dining.
