Former NFL player Jeff Allen and his wife Marissa are proving that teamwork works just as well in the kitchen as it does on the football field. The married couple recently celebrated the grand opening of their fifth Cookie Society location in Mansfield, Texas.
What started as a sweet hobby has now grown into a booming business. Jeff and Marissa turned their love for baking into a dream come true by launching Cookie Society in 2020. Since then, their bakery has taken off across Texas — and even caught the attention of Oprah Winfrey.
Cookie Society is known for its bold Southern flavors, large chewy cookies, and creative monthly menus. Customers can expect mouthwatering flavors like Banana Pudding, Peach Cobbler, and Salted Caramel. Each cookie is crafted with care, and the bakery’s signature style stands out for its thick, soft texture and rich ingredients.
With five locations now open across Texas, including in Frisco, Addison, and now Mansfield, the Allens have created a cookie empire. But they didn’t stop there. Cookie Society also offers nationwide shipping, making their famous cookies available to sweet lovers across the United States.
One of their proudest moments came when Oprah listed their cookies in her annual “Oprah’s Favorite Things.” That recognition helped them reach even more customers and inspired them to continue expanding.
Jeff, who played in the NFL for several years, said switching from football to baking was unexpected — but worth it. “Football gave me discipline, but this business gave us purpose. We’re doing it together, and that’s what makes it special.”
As Cookie Society continues to grow, the Allens hope to open even more locations and bring their Southern-inspired cookies to new communities. For now, with five Texas shops and a whole lot of sugar and love, they are baking up a legacy one cookie at a time.
