North Carolina Woman Launches the First Black-Owned HOA Management Company in the U.S.

Claudia Charles from Charlotte, North Carolina, is making history by launching Neighborhood Cornerstone Partners, the first Black-owned HOA management company in the United States. Her goal is simple yet powerful — to bring fairness, education, and transparency to homeowners’ associations across the country.

After personally dealing with unfair and “shady” HOA boards, Claudia decided it was time for a change. She saw how many homeowners, especially in Black communities, struggled with confusing rules, hidden fees, and a lack of accountability. Instead of waiting for someone else to fix it, she took matters into her own hands.

With Neighborhood Cornerstone Partners, Claudia is helping homeowners take back control of their communities. Her company focuses on empowering residents with knowledge, ensuring clear communication, and protecting the investments of Black families who work hard to own property and build generational wealth.

Based in Charlotte, NC, Claudia’s mission goes beyond business — it’s about building stronger, united neighborhoods. She believes that when Black families have access to fair management and financial education, they can create lasting change for generations to come.

Her work is inspiring others to see that leadership and ownership within our own communities can truly make a difference.
