New York Man Founded First Black-Owned Coconut Water Brand

Gregory Lowe II, an entrepreneur from New York City, made history by launching the first-ever Black-owned coconut water brand, 100 Coconuts, in 2018. Inspired by the numerous health benefits of coconut water, Gregory saw an opportunity to bring this natural beverage to a wider audience while also making a name for himself in an industry with little Black representation.

Water from coconut has long been recognized for its hydration properties, rich nutrients, and ability to support overall wellness. After learning about its benefits, Gregory realized there was potential to introduce a premium, health-conscious coconut water brand to the market. This realization drove him to establish 100 Coconuts, setting the stage for his unique journey as a pioneer.

Gregory’s vision paid off as 100 Coconuts quickly gained traction. His brand has now expanded into thousands of stores across the country, bringing refreshing, nutritious coconut water to health enthusiasts everywhere. The success of 100 Coconuts marks a milestone, not only for Gregory as an entrepreneur but also for the Black community, as he became the first and only Black owner of a coconut water brand in the industry.

100 Coconuts, the coconut water brand continues to grow, with Gregory leading the charge in promoting health, hydration, and inclusivity in the beverage market.
