Two best friends have turned their shared passion for mental health into a powerful purpose by opening their own therapy practice near Chicago, K&B Wellness.
Licensed therapists Brittany Lampkin and Kara Johnson are the founders of K&B Wellness, a Black-owned therapy office serving the Chicagoland area, including Lansing, Illinois. After spending years building their careers in the mental health field, the longtime friends decided to come together and create a safe and welcoming space for healing.
K&B Wellness focuses on emotional well-being, personal growth, and culturally responsive care. The practice was created to make therapy feel more accessible and comfortable, especially for individuals who may feel unheard or misunderstood in traditional settings.
Brittany and Kara understand the importance of mental health in everyday life. Through their work, they aim to help clients manage stress, heal from trauma, and build healthier relationships. Their office is designed to be a supportive environment where people can openly talk, feel seen, and begin their healing journey.
By opening K&B Wellness, the two friends are not only growing as business owners but also giving back to their community in a meaningful way. Their story shows how friendship, passion, and purpose can come together to create lasting impact.
