Jasir’s story began when he worked as a stock boy at a local shoe store in Chicago. At first, he didn’t think much of the role. But his boss and mentor, Lavell Sykes, told him something that changed his life — everyone starts somewhere, and no job is too small. Jasir kept this lesson close to his heart.
In 2021, Jasir used that experience and started his own brand, StockBoy Chicago. He first made a T-shirt with a design inspired by a rapper named Lucki. From there, his creative ideas grew into a full clothing line of shirts and apparel that reflect Chicago youth culture. Today, StockBoy Chicago is a symbol of hard work, pride, and community spirit.
The store is located at 5239 S. Harper Avenue in Hyde Park, and it opened with excitement from friends, family, and local supporters. Jasir’s goal with his store isn’t just to sell clothes — he wants to help other young creatives bring their fashion ideas to life too. The store also aims to be a place where others can feel inspired to chase their dreams.
Jasir keeps his clothes affordable because he remembers how hard it was growing up without a lot of money for stylish clothes. He wants his brand to be something almost anyone can enjoy. All the products are made by him using his own printing process.
