Hooked on Healing 423, A Life-Changing Healing Camp for Kids Battling Trauma

A Black nurse is changing young lives with a powerful new program called Hooked on Healing 423, a five-day overnight healing camp for youth ages 11 to 18 who are facing trauma, community violence, emotional neglect, and systemic barriers.

This program is different from traditional approaches because it focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment where kids feel truly heard. It gives them access to mentors who look like them and understand their struggles. It also offers the healing power of nature and emotional support in a space that feels safe and welcoming.

At Hooked on Healing 423, kids spend time away from daily stress and experience what it means to be emotionally supported and understood. The camp provides mentorship, healing activities, and positive role models who encourage youth to see their strength and potential.

The results speak for themselves:

  • 100% of campers said they felt emotionally supported
  • 93% said they left feeling more confident
  • 100% said they felt safe
  • 86% said they want to return and bring a friend

This isn’t just a camp for fun — it’s a place for restoration and growth. The founder, a dedicated nurse, created this program after seeing how many kids fall through the cracks of traditional support systems.

“Traditional programs don’t work for all kids, so we created something different,” she said.

Programs like Hooked on Healing 423 show what is possible when communities come together to create safe and healing spaces for children who need it the most.
