HBCU Graduate Opens Atlanta’s Largest 100% Black-Owned Home Hospice

Morehouse graduate Henry Mason Jr., also known as “Healthcare Henry,” is making history in Atlanta with the launch of Precious Hospice, the largest 100% Black-owned home hospice in the city. His mission is simple but powerful — to make sure every patient, especially in the Black community, receives dignity, comfort, and quality care right at home.

Henry’s journey was inspired by his mother, who once witnessed how minorities often received unequal hospice care. Determined to change that, he created a company that redefines what compassionate care should look like — affordable, accessible, and respectful for all.

At Precious Hospice, patients and families don’t have to worry about unexpected costs. Henry has made it his mission to provide no out-of-pocket costs for essential services like hospital beds, oxygen concentrators, medical supplies, nursing visits, and even medications. This approach is helping families focus on what truly matters — spending quality time with their loved ones without financial stress.

Located in Atlanta, Precious Hospice stands out as a beacon of hope and representation in the healthcare field. Henry’s work is more than just a business — it’s a movement to ensure that the Black community receives the same level of compassion and medical excellence as anyone else.

And he’s spreading the message loud and clear — his billboard in downtown Atlanta proudly declares that “Hospice is for US.”

For families looking for care, Precious Hospice is now accepting new patients and transfers from other hospices.

Henry Mason Jr. is proving that with heart, purpose, and dedication, one person truly can change the future of healthcare — starting right at home.
