First Black Woman Launched Her Drone Academy in Texas Now Offers $1,000 Scholarship

Steffanie Rivers, the founder of TCB Drones, has made history as the first Black woman to launch her own drone academy in Texas. Now, she’s taking her mission even further — by giving back to her community through a $1,000 Drone Pilot Scholarship aimed at helping more minorities and women enter the world of drone technology and aviation.

Rivers’ academy is not just about flying drones — it’s about creating new opportunities in one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. From aerial photography and cinematography to construction, agriculture, and public safety, drone pilots are in high demand. But for many people, especially women and minorities, the cost of training and certification can be a big barrier.

That’s why Steffanie Rivers decided to step in. With her new Drone Pilot Scholarship, she hopes to make drone education more accessible and inspire others to explore careers in aviation and technology.

TCB Drones provides professional training for beginners and experienced flyers alike, offering certification programs recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Through her academy, Rivers is creating a pathway for people who might have never seen themselves in this field before.

Her journey from a passionate drone pilot to a trailblazing academy founder has already opened doors for many, and this scholarship marks another milestone in her mission to empower and educate.

Anyone interested in applying for the $1,000 Drone Pilot Scholarship can visit www.tcbdrones.com to learn more and submit their application.

Steffanie Rivers’ work is a reminder that when one woman breaks barriers, she lifts others with her — proving that the future of flight is diverse, inclusive, and full of possibility.
