Steffanie Rivers Makes History, She’s Leading Drone Networking Event

Steffanie Rivers has already made history as the first Black woman to own a registered drone academy in Texas. Through her company, she has been helping people learn how to fly drones and turn those skills into real career opportunities. Now, she’s taking her mission even further by holding drone networking event where more people, especially from minority communities, can connect and grow in the drone industry.

Earlier this year, Rivers broke barriers by launching her drone academy, training students for professional opportunities that can pay hundreds of dollars per hour. Her programs are open to high school students, veterans, and adults looking for a career change. She also uses her platform to bring more diversity to the drone world, where Black women are still underrepresented.

Rivers has worked on important community projects, training drone pilots to help in search-and-rescue efforts and safety missions. She believes drones are more than just tools for photography — they can save lives and create financial independence.

This September, she is inviting everyone to join her for two special events in Richardson, Texas:

  • Black Drone Networking Event – A gathering for drone enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals to meet, share ideas, and build connections.
  • Free Pre-Drone Workshop – A hands-on session designed for beginners who want to learn how to start a career with drones. This workshop will cover the basics and show how drones can be used for business and community impact.

Rivers says these events are about more than flying drones. They are about opening doors, creating opportunities, and building a strong network of people who can support one another in this growing field.

By offering free access, she hopes to reach people who may have never considered drones as a career path.  This September, Steffanie Rivers is not just telling people to watch the future take off — she is inviting them to be part of it.
