Black Entrepreneur Builds Marketplace to Empower Black-Owned Businesses: Da Village Network

Da Village Network

June 6, 2025 – When protests couldn’t happen, one man decided to take action in another powerful way — through business. Ronnie Perry, a Black entrepreneur, founded Da Village Network in 2019 with one clear mission: to build a strong and united Black-owned business ecosystem.

Da Village Network is more than just an online store. It’s a digital marketplace where people can shop directly from Black-owned companies across the United States. From clothing and beauty products to books, home décor, and more, the platform brings together a wide range of products and services made by Black creators and business owners.

Perry started the platform during a time of unrest and uncertainty, when many in the Black community were demanding justice and change. He believed that true power could also come from economic growth — by supporting and investing in Black businesses.

“We needed a solution that would last beyond the moment,” Perry said. “If we can’t march, we can still build. This is our way of lifting each other up — by spending our dollars where they matter most.”

The idea behind Da Village Network is simple but powerful: recycle the Black dollar. Studies have shown that the Black dollar circulates in the Black community for less than 6 hours, while it can stay in other communities for days or even weeks. Perry’s goal is to change that by keeping money flowing between Black-owned businesses and customers.

The platform’s motto is “By us. For us. On our terms.” It encourages Black consumers to support their own community, while giving Black entrepreneurs a space to grow and thrive without the barriers they often face on larger platforms.

Da Village Network is now home to hundreds of vendors and continues to grow. It’s a reminder that economic power can be just as impactful as protest — and that real change can come from within. To learn more or shop visit www.davillagenetwork.com.
