A popular Black-owned brand, Capital City Mambo Sauce, is making headlines for its big move. What began as a small kitchen experiment inside a D.C. home has now found a spot on the shelves of one of the biggest retailers in the country — Costco.
Capital City Mambo Sauce is known for its delicious sweet and tangy flavor. It’s inspired by a sauce that’s a huge part of D.C.’s food culture. In the Washington D.C. area, Mambo Sauce is a favorite among locals and is often enjoyed with fried chicken, fries, and other foods. Capital City Mambo Sauce has been working hard to keep that tradition alive and share the flavor with the rest of the country.
The owners, Arsha and Charles Jones, started Capital City Mambo Sauce in their home kitchen. They wanted to bring a taste of D.C. to people outside the city. Over time, their sauce became a hit not only with people in the D.C. area but also with others who wanted to try something unique and flavorful.
Now, this Black-owned business has made its way into Costco stores across the DMV (which includes Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia). Shoppers in these areas can now easily pick up a bottle of Mambo Sauce during their regular Costco runs. This is a huge step forward for the company and for Black-owned businesses in general.
The success of this brand shows how far a good idea and hard work can take you. It’s also a reminder of the importance of supporting Black-owned businesses. Every purchase not only supports the company but also helps keep the culture and traditions of D.C. alive.
