Rochelle Satchell, the Co-Owner of Cure Cocktails and Events, stands at the helm of a remarkable tale that transcends adversity. Together with her husband, Jeff Satchell, she spearheads a business that is not only female-owned but also a triple minority-owned venture, proudly reflecting the fusion of black and Hispanic entrepreneurship. This is the story of how they transformed challenges into opportunities, turning the proverbial lemons into a refreshing lemon drop cocktail.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 wreaked havoc on businesses worldwide, prompting closures and staffing reductions. Rochelle herself experienced the impact firsthand, becoming part of the initial staff cut at Hubbard Media West Palm Beach in May 2020. Simultaneously, the Satchell’s were navigating the early stages of their relocation from Philadelphia to Florida.

In the face of adversity, Rochelle tapped into her creativity, resourcefulness, and adaptability reservoir. Drawing from her background in sales, advertising, and marketing and Jeff’s expertise in transportation and logistics, Rochelle conceptualized a solution to the prevailing Pandemic dilemma — how to balance sanity, safety, and socialization during a global crisis. The answer was Cure, a concept that emerged as a beacon for people seeking a safe yet social way to connect, all while sipping on delicious, meticulously crafted cocktails.

The Satchell’s ingeniously devised a mobile beverage system housed in a van, boasting a 7-tap configuration serving an array of beverages, from craft cocktails to champagne, wine, craft beer, and beyond. As the world grappled with the uncertainties of the pandemic.

The innovative spirit of Cure did not go unnoticed. The business received acclaim and support from the Office Depot (ODP), recognized as one of the inaugural cash grant recipients of the Elevate Together program. This initiative spotlighted and rewarded black and brown businesses, providing not only financial assistance but also valuable resources and mentoring for sustained success. ODP, now one of Cure’s primary clients, regularly engages the services of Cure Cocktails and Events for various activities, from team-building sessions and Black History Month events to Champion Circle recognition programs.

Beyond beverage services, Cure Cocktails and Events has evolved into a full-service event planning entity, seamlessly managing everything from conceptualization and creation to execution and overall event management. The pandemic may have receded, but Cure continues to flourish, riding the wave of a resurgence in event planning, gatherings, and celebrations across the nation and beyond.Additionally, the company is gearing up to impart its expertise through workshops on “The Art of Craft Cocktail/Mocktail Making and BARTY™️ (a Reimagined Cocktail Party),” emphasizing the limitless possibilities encapsulated in their business model — “Have Wheels Will Travel.” This tagline conveys a clear message to clients: Cure is only as limited as the imagination of those it serves.
